1. Atmosphere Monitoring and Control Station

Measuring is knowing! Without accurate measurement and the appropriate control of the equipment, all kinds of things can go wrong. Besseling has developed its own measurement and control system (ACS – Atmosphere Control Station) which can be used to control the full pest treatment from start to finish. Fully automatic.

For a successful treatment it is key that all parameters are correct throughout the full process sequence. Any interruption or disturbance of the process might compromise the treatment. Continuous monitoring is therefore in place.

Besseling Organic Pest Control uses nitrogen, temperature and relative humidity to control pests. Earth's atmosphere consists of 20,8% oxygen, 78% nitrogen and 1,2% rest gases. By taking out the oxygen molecules, we create almost pure nitrogen. By flushing this nitrogen into a hermetically sealed compartment, you can reduce the oxygen content to 0,5% or lower. This is lethal for most pests. Increasing the temperature will accelerate the disinfestation process.

With internet connection, you will have 24/7 remote control to your installation. All data is collected by the dedicated Web-based software, which can be used for your reports or certification.

2. Controlled Atmosphere Rooms

A prerequisite for successful natural fumigation is a hermetically sealed space. The most simple and convenient solution is a Controlled Atmosphere (CA) room. Due to, among other things, a special gas-tight coating, a gas-tight door and unique gas-tight transits, a CA room is extremely suitable for creating the optimal atmosphere where vermin cannot survive.

CA rooms are custom designed, depending on the specific requirements and wishes.

The system is able to control oxygen, temperature and relative humidity levels which makes the CA room(s) suitable for low oxygen treatment, heat treatment, but also regular preservation of commodities.

3. Controlled Atmosphere Container

For small quantities, when space is limited or a mobile solution is required, a Controlled Atmosphere container can be used. A CA container is fully equipped with treatment equipment and a fully gas-tight chamber. It can be easily transported to any preferred location.

The system is able to control oxygen, temperature and relative humidity levels which makes this CA container suitable for low oxygen treatment, heat treatment, but also regular preservation of commodities.

4. Silos

Many products are stored in silos. Of course, natural pest control can also be applied here. Insects are a major threat and can affect a product in a silo by:

●  Consumption of a product;
●  Secretion of moisture that causes mold;
●  Excreting feces that endanger food safety.

Because pests can cause a lot of damage to the stored goods, they inherently cause economic damage. Biological pest control can reduce or even prevent this damage.
